Irokawa, in the town of Nachikatsuura, Wakayama Prefecture, is a small community with a population of 300. Over the past 40 years, the number of immigrants has gradually increased, and now half of the town is made up of immigrants. The hearts of the unique immigrants and the local people who have accepted them are truly warm. It features terraced rice fields and beautiful mountain scenery, one cafe, four vending machines, and a Izakaya (Japanese restaurant) that opens once a week. And many deer and wild boars also live here. It takes about 3 hours to walk to the nearest convenience store. Everyone who lives here is facing the life in front of them every day, which I find very cool.

The most important thing for me is “Live healthy and freely”I willing to face the sensitivities and impulses I feel daily within myself and do what I feel I want to do at that moment. Above all, I feel happy that my spirit and body are always healthy. I try not to do things that I don’t want to do or that I am not suited to do because I am concerned about what people around me think or what the world is like. But to be honest, I still continue to be influenced by the sense of “how things should be. Each time I do, I confront my own sensibilities and decide how to live. I go to farm work and drinking parties that my neighbors invite me to right away because they are so much fun.

3 Key Points

1Host’s introduction
I am 25 years old, a stay-at-home NEET. I live my life being spoiled by the great nature and overly warm people of Irokawa. Through my part-time jobs and long-term internships during college, I felt that I was overwhelmingly unfit for society and gave up trying to find a job. After that, I tried to start a small business and did some freelance work, but I was too socially unfit to do so. Now I have saved up some savings at that time and am enjoying a minimal lifestyle. Now I live to be a YouTuber. I also love the latest technology and scientific stuff. I usually go for walks and watch videos of kpop idols on YouTube. I live a relaxed life by occasionally studying about health, working part-time jobs that I am invited to, and running a lot.
2You can interact with people like this!
You can interact with interesting immigrants and extremely kind local people. You can interact with people I love, such as a young fisherman who hunts and sells wild game, the strongest man I have ever met who has never been employed in his entire life, and people who are creating a life as close to nature as possible! Although not people, I am sure you will be able to interact with many insects, birds, and deer as well.
3You can experience like this!
There is nothing special, but I’m sure you can experience part of life such as walking a lot, watching stars, taking the Goemon bathtub, etc. I often help out with activities in the nearby terraced rice fields, and occasionally, we have BBQs where we break down gibier together, so if the timing is right, we can go together! If you feel up to it, we are trying to turn the crumbling shed at the back of our house into a sauna, so any help would be appreciated.
